Insufficient levels of vitamin D was associated with a more rapid decline in episodic memory and executive function among older adults irrespective of the participant’s race, ethnicity, or baseline cognitive ability. However, the researchers also noted that "it remains to be determined whether vitamin D supplementation slows cognitive decline.”
