Pesticide Exposure Implicated in Increased Risk of Developing Parkinson's Disease Among Gaza Farmers10/4/2015 Haaretz is reporting on the results of study by Yitshak et al., showing an increased risk for Parkinson’s disease among the members of Jewish agricultural communities living near the Gaza border. Among members of communities living in areas with many cultivated fields the risk of PD was 54 percent higher than the regional average. The authors concluded that their study "provides further evidence for the interplay between ethnicity and environmental factors contributing to PD epidemiology." This study did not stratify subjects by age at onset and it did not look at duration of exposure.
